Ingredients
Cake
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Tres Leches Mixture
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup Mexican table cream or crème fraîche
Topping
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 apple, peeled and sliced into ½-inch wedges
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
Instructions

Step1Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch round pan with cooking spray.

Step2In a medium bowl combine 1 chopped apple and flour. Mix with a spoon to coat apple pieces. Set aside.

Step3In a large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed until moistened. Then on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Fold in apple mixture and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon until combined.

Step4Bake 41-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, loosen sides of cake from pan. Place platter upside down on pan; carefully turn platter and pan over to unmold cake. Let cake cool completely.

Step5While cake cools, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and cream in a medium bowl.

Step6Using a wooden skewer, poke about 15 holes into cake, and spoon milk mixture over cake. Refrigerate cake for 8 hours or overnight.

Step7Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add apple wedges, brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cook, stirring frequently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Step8Frost the top of the cake, leaving a 1-inch border. Add apple mixture to the center and sprinkle with pecans. Slice and serve.
