What a delicious twist! We’ve upped the strawberry shortcake game with this crowd-pleasing recipe. This unique take on strawberry shortcake adds not only outstanding flavor twists but is made into one giant slab shortcake to feed a crowd.

From our Bisquick Quick to the Table cookbook, the recipe starts with Original Bisquick™, for the easiest and most delicious shortcake around. But this strawberry shortcake adds a few magical ingredients that put it in an indulgent class all its own. The sweet and juicy fruitiness of the berries is elevated when fresh basil is paired with them. Soft and smooth cream cheese adds richness, moistness, and a slightly tangy taste that adds a sophisticated taste and texture to the classic dessert.

Make and serve this dessert all spring and summer long, when the strawberries and basil are at their best. Strawberry shortcake is a great dessert to bring with you to a picnic or backyard barbecue, to serve at bridal or baby shower, or for a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day treat.
