Who doesn’t love the combination of caramel with apples–especially in fall?! By adding the caramel sauce to the frosting, we can elevate a delicious recipe and add tons of fall flavor to this spiced apple cake.

Ingredients
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Spice Cake Mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
- 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting or 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
- 3 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
Instructions

Step1Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.

Step2In a large bowl, beat cake mix, eggs and pie filling with an electric mixer on low speed for 2 minutes. Batter will be thick. Spread batter in pan.

Step3Bake for 28-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Step4To make the caramel frosting, place the frosting in a small bowl and add the caramel topping. Stir to combine. Frost cooled cake as desired.

Step5Serve with an additional drizzle of caramel topping. Store loosely covered.
