Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 3 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup apple butter
  • 2 cups coarsely shredded Granny Smith apples (2 medium)

Topping

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with non-stick baking spray with flour.

    In a large bowl using an electric handheld mixer, beat together the cake mix, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and eggs until combined. Then add the vanilla, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and apple butter. Beat on medium speed for 60 seconds. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in the coarsely shredded apple. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.

    In a small bowl, whisk the Topping ingredients together. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.

    Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
