Prep Instructions

Microwave Directions Do not leave microwave unattended while cooking potatoes.
1 Combine water, milk, and butter in 1 1/2-quart microwavable casserole dish.
2 Microwave on HIGH 2:00.
3 Add potatoes; stir until well blended. Microwave on HIGH 2:30 to 3:30.
CAUTION: Handle carefully; dish may be HOT!
4 Stir.
Microwave times developed using 1000-watt microwave ovens. Due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may need to be adjusted.
Just Add Water!
Potatoes can be prepared with just water on the stove-top or in the microwave. Use 2 cups water, and omit butter and milk.
Make It Like Betty
For stiffer potatoes, let stand 3 to 5 minutes.
For less stiff potatoes, stir in more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time.
You Will Need:
1 1/2 Cups Water
1/2 Cup Milk
3 Tablespoons Butter
Stove-Top Directions
1 Heat water and butter to a rapid boil in 2-quart saucepan. Remove from heat.
2 Stir in milk and potatoes until well blended.
3 Cover; let stand 2 minutes to complete cooking.
