Ingredients
- 2 cups Gold Medal™ flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup orange-flavored carbonated beverage (8 oz)
- 2 eggs
- Powdered sugar, if desired

Step1Heat oven to 350°F. Place paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups.

Step2In medium bowl, beat all ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.

Step3Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cupcake comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan; place on cooling rack to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with desired frosting.
