Mediterranean-inspired seasonings give a flavor boost to traditional burgers, and using turkey instead of ground beef is a light and satisfying meal option.

Greek-Inspired Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
  • 1 teaspoon kosher (coarse) salt
  • 1 teaspoon grill seasoning
  • 3 oz tomato-basil feta cheese
  • 5 onion rolls, split
  • Toppings such as sliced red onion, roasted red peppers and avocado slices, if desired

Instructions

    Heat small amount of oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, or heat gas or charcoal grill.

    In large bowl, mix turkey, oregano, salt, grill seasoning and cheese; do not over mix. Shape mixture into 5 patties, about 1 inch thick.

    Place patties in skillet or on grill over medium-high heat. Cook 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 165°F. If desired, toast rolls. Place patties on bottom halves of rolls. Add desired toppings; cover with top halves of rolls.
