Peppermint Bark Brownies

Updated November 27, 2023

Fudgy brownies packed with chocolate peppermint flavor. Marley Braunlich’s Peppermint Bark Brownies recipe puts an extra-festive spin on Betty’s fan-favorite Holiday Tree Brownies. Your loved ones will adore the combination of chewy, chocolate mint brownies with creamy vanilla frosting and crunchy peppermint candy—and you’ll love how simple they are to make!

Marley knows that chocolate and mint are a match made in holiday dessert heaven. So, with white chocolate peppermint bark as her inspiration, she created a decadent dessert that pairs these flavors perfectly. With a little help from Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix, punched up with a splash of peppermint extract, and Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting, topped with peppermint candies, this recipe looks amazing but is easy-as-can-be to prepare.

These holly, jolly treats are so full of flavor and look as sweet as they taste. Marley paired the snowy white vanilla frosting with crushed peppermint candy topping so that every bite transports you to your own little winter wonderland.

Follow Marley’s fun and easy recipe to make these merry, minty treats for your friends and family this holiday. And make sure to let us know how they turned out in the comments below. For more holiday baking fun, check out what our other Betty Makers are up to this month.

Marley’s Tips

  • To amp up the peppermint flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the batter. Top the brownies with crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for an extra pepperminty and festive holiday touch.
  • For a more finished look, clean the knife after cutting each brownie. This will give you cleaner, more uniform squares.
  • If you’re making the brownies ahead of time, hold off on frosting and adding the crushed peppermint candies until just before serving. This will help your brownies stay moist, but not soggy.
