Ingredients
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
- Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract, optional
- 3/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
- 1/3 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies

Step1Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box, adding peppermint extract if desired; spread in pan.

Step2Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Step3Spread vanilla frosting evenly over brownies in the pan. Top with crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for decoration.

Step4Remove brownies from pan to slice into 12 equal servings. Refrigerate leftovers to keep the frosting from melting or getting too soft.
