can i use chocolate chip mix to make a bar cookie?

That is a great question, and yes you can!  I have attached the recipe from our Betty Crocker test kitchens.   Happy Baking!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix Bars

Pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker® Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix

 

8x8 and 9x13

 

 

Important:  If cookie mix has been stored above 85°, refrigerate package 1 hour before mixing to keep chocolate chips from softening during preparation.

 

 

YOU WILL

   NEED

 

1 Stick Margarine, Butter or Spread,* Softened (Not Melted)

 

    1 Egg

 

Chocolate Chip Bars:  Preheat oven to 350°.  Make cookie mix as directed on package--except spread dough in ungreased 8-inch square pan.  Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until light golden brown; cool.

 

High Altitude:  Preheat oven to 375°.  Stir 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour into dry cookie mix.  Bake 23-26 min.

 

 

Family-Size Chocolate Chip Bars:  Preheat oven to 350°.  Make 2 packages cookie mix as directed on package, using 1 cup margarine and 2 eggs.  Spread dough in ungreased 13x9x2-inch rectangular pan.  Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown; cool.

 

High Altitude:  Stir 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour into dry cookie mix.  Decrease margarine to 3/4 cup.  Bake 30 min.
