Wholesome Amaranth Bars

Our Wholesome Amaranth Bars are ready in under an hour and made with peanut butter, real maple syrup, marshmallows, Multigrain Cheerios and chocolate and butterscotch.
Wholesome Amaranth Bars

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows
- 5 cups MultiGrain Cheerios™ cereal
- 1 cup popped amaranth*
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
- Additional popped amaranth, if desired

Step1Lightly spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray.

Step2In deep large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter over medium heat. Add peanut butter, syrup and marshmallows. Cook and stir until marshmallows are melted. Add cereal and 1 cup popped amaranth; stir until well coated. Press into pan.

Step3In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and remaining 1 tablespoon butter uncovered on High about 1 minute, stirring once, until melted and smooth. Spread over bars. Sprinkle with additional popped amaranth. Cool. Cut into 3 rows by 3 rows.
