Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 cans (10 ounces each) diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Instructions

Step1Cook beef and onion in 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.

Step2Mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients except almonds in 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.

Step3Cover and cook on low heat setting 3 to 4 hours or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir in almonds.
