Ginger-Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 cup finely chopped crystallized ginger
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Step1Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and gingers.

Step2Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into 1-inch balls. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to 1/2-inch thickness with greased bottom of glass dipped in granulated sugar.

Step3Bake cookies 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool.
