Black and White Strawberries

Forget plain chocolate-dipped strawberries. Show your boo you really care by putting in the time with these half dark-, half-white chocolate-covered berries. Simple and splendid, these treats are so special your crush will think you picked them up from your local gourmet chocolatier.

Ingredients

  • 15 large strawberries, washed and air-dried
  • 1 cup good quality dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup good quality white baking chips
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Step

    Place 1/2 cup of white baking chips in a small, microwaveable bowl and ½ cup of the dark chocolate chips in another small, microwaveable bowl.

    Microwave white baking chips for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Continue to microwave and stir in 10 second intervals until chips are completely melted.

    Dip half of the clean, dry strawberries into the white chocolate at an angle, coating half of the berry. Transfer strawberries to parchment paper and allow chocolate to harden thoroughly.

    Microwave dark chocolate chips for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Continue to microwave and stir in 10 second intervals until chips are completely melted.

    Dip the white covered berries in the dark chocolate at an angle, coating the other half of the berry. Transfer to parchment paper.

    Before the dark chocolate hardens, decorate with sprinkles. Allow chocolate to harden completely before serving.

    Repeat the above process with the remaining white baking chips, dark chocolate chips and strawberries, starting with dark chocolate first and finishing with the white.
