Easter is one of those holidays when most of us like to get creative. Spring is here, and the time is right for recipes to make the holiday fresh and fun.

My sister is the artist in our family, so she is always preparing visually creative dishes that make the kids and adults smile. Last Easter, she served this adorable Bunny Bread Crudités Platter. I loved it so much that I had to make it this year and share it will all of you.

If you are having an Easter party, hosting a dinner or need a side dish to bring to someone’s home, this is the perfect recipe.

It’s simple enough for the kids to help assemble. Plus, it’s a fun way to get them to eat their vegetables!

  • You start with two balls of frozen bread dough that have been thawed. (I actually used pizza dough here because my store was out of bread dough, but the bread dough works better.) You use one half of the dough for the body and the head and the other half gets divided to make the paws, cheeks, nose and ears.

  • Use raisins or dried cranberries for the eyes and sliced almonds for the teeth. Brush an egg wash over the top, and let sit about 20 minutes to rise before baking.

  • Once the bunny is baked, let it cool.

  • Put the cooled bread on a platter. You can put the dip right into the bread belly, but I prefer to cut out an opening for a small bowl filled with dip. Surround the bunny bread with assorted vegetable dippers.
