Whether it’s topping a bowl of ice cream or a decadent homemade dessert, raspberry sauce is a delicious addition to any dish. Now you can make our mouth-watering Raspberry Sauce at home by following two simple steps.

1. In 1-quart saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch. Stir in water and raspberries with syrup.

2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils, becoming translucent. Boil and stir 1 minute; strain sauce through strainer into bowl to remove seeds. Serve warm or cool.

To make strawberry sauce: Substitute frozen strawberries in syrup for the raspberries.

Ingredients

    • 3tablespoons sugar
    • 2teaspoons cornstarch
    • 1/3cup water
    • 1box (10 oz) frozen raspberries in syrup, thawed, undrained

Directions

  • 1In 1-quart saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch. Stir in water and raspberries with syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils (mixture will become translucent during cooking). Boil and stir 1 minute.
  • 2Strain sauce through a strainer into bowl to remove seeds if desired. Serve sauce warm or cool. Store covered in refrigerator up to 10 days.
