Chicken and dumplings is an ultimate comfort food, but it can be intimidating to a rookie cook like me. But after finding the Easy Chicken and Dumplings recipe from Betty Crocker, fears of mastering this comfort food can be conquered. I also was excited to see that it calls for Bisquick Heart Smart® mix, which cuts down on the fat but doesn’t sacrifice the flavor.
I will admit I am a picky eater. So I made a couple of changes to the recipe, like using condensed soup without the mushrooms and frozen corn instead of peas and carrots.

In a saucepan, bring the milk, chicken, soup and vegetables to a boil.

Add 1 cup Bisquick and 1/3 cup milk to a bowl. |

Stir together until a soft dough forms.

Scoop a tablespoon of the dough and place gently on the top of the soup mixture. Just place the spoonfuls right on top of the mixture. They will sink in a little bit, but they still work! |

Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes.

Cover and cook for 10 minutes. |

Sprinkle with paprika and serve. You just made chicken and dumplings in less than 30 minutes! Pat yourself on the back, and enjoy this delicious comfort food! |
