These Peanut Butter Brownies are Everything

By Cindy Rahe
Created January 10, 2017
These decadent brownies have four layers of goodness: peanut butter cookie dough, peanut butter sandwich cookies, Reese’s™ peanut butter cups and fudgy brownie batter. Yes, you read that right!
outrageous stacked peanut butter brownies

I have a sweet tooth for many flavor combos, but peanut butter and chocolate is by far my favorite. With that said, these insanely delicious bars stacked with four layers of peanut butter and chocolaty goodness have completely stolen my heart.

It’s easy to see how good these bars are going to be when you take a look at the ingredient list: Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix for the base, Reese’s peanut butter cups and peanut butter crème-filled sandwich cookies for the middle and Betty Crocker dark chocolate brownie mix for the top layer. See what I mean? These brownies do not mess around. (Check out the recipe below for the full list of ingredients and measurements.)

First, grease a 13x9-inch pan and line it with parchment paper. Heat the oven to 350°F and prepare the peanut butter cookie dough as directed on the pouch (using an egg, vegetable oil and water). Break the dough into bits and scatter it across the bottom of the pan. Then, using an offset spatula or your hands, spread the dough so it makes a thin, even layer.

Next, top the dough with an even layer of peanut butter sandwich cookies and peanut butter cups.

For the final layer, prepare the brownie batter as directed on the box (using vegetable oil, water and eggs). Spread the batter over the top, so it covers the cookies and candies completely.

Bake for about 30 minutes and allow the bars to cool completely. Once cooled, you can optionally (and seriously, why not at this point?) add a little peanut butter drizzle. To do this, simply mix some peanut butter and coconut oil together in a microwavable bowl and heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Drizzle with a spoon and serve!
