It’s easy to love Betty Crocker OREO® Truffles Mix. Afterall, it has everything you adore about classic OREO® Cookies—the crunchy chocolate wafers, the dreamy creaminess—with Betty’s signature baking ease. All you need is a couple of ingredients and in a matter of minutes, you'll have a treat your entire family will be obsessed with. No oven required! (Hint: that means it’s great for kids.)

But if you want to take your truffles up a notch—and trust us, after watching the recipe videos, you will—Betty’s got you covered! This quick article has four fun ideas for turning your truffles into playful, highly snackable, and totally share-worthy seasonal treats. And these are just the beginning. Once you get started, you’ll see the decorating possibilities are endless.

Football Truffles

Hosting a homecoming get together or bringing the team together for the big game? These football truffles will score you huge points. A tip from the Betty Kitchens before you start: The truffle dough can warm up in your hands and become difficult to shape into the ovals. If this happens, simply place the dough in the fridge for 10 minutes and try again.

Ingredients

  • Betty Crocker OREO® Truffle Mix
  • Butter and water called for on truffle mix box
  • Chocolate wafers or chips for melting
  • Additional butter for melting
  • Betty Crocker White Decorating Icing

Directions

  1. Stir Betty Crocker™ OREO Truffles Mix with melted butter and water until soft dough forms. (If the dough is sticky, refrigerate it for 20-25 minutes.)
  2. Shape dough into oval shaped truffles.
  3. Melt chocolate chips and butter together.
  4. Dip truffles in chocolate mixture to coat. Refrigerate briefly (about 5 minutes) to set chocolate.
  5. Use the icing to pipe lines for the football laces over the truffles.

Bunny Truffles

Make your Easter baskets extra “hoppy” with these adorable bunny truffles. They are oh-so fun to decorate and are bound to go over way better than those black jelly beans! A tip from the Betty Kitchens before you start: We used Betty Crocker™ White Decorating Cookie Icing to attach the marshmallow “bunny ears” to the truffles, but any color of icing will do.

  2. Shape dough into round shaped truffles.
  3. Melt white chocolate chips and butter together.
  4. Dip truffles in chocolate mixture to coat. Refrigerate briefly to set chocolate.
  5. To make each bunny ear: cut partway through the middle of a mini marshmallow (without cutting completely in half). Dip the cut side (the sticky side) in the sprinkles. Place a small dot of white icing on the truffle “body” and then press the ear onto it.
  6. To make the bunny feet: cut mini marshmallows in small disks and use pink icing to add dots for the bunny’s foot pads. Place a small dot of white icing on the truffle “body” and then press the foot onto it.
  7. Use the icing to pipe lines for the bunny’s face and to add a dollop for the tail.

Pumpkin Truffles

Whether you’re planning a Halloween party or want to give your trick-or-treaters a little something special, these pumpkin truffles are just what you need to make fall extra fabulous. Tip from the Betty Kitchens before you get started: Be sure to put the pretzel stem into the top of each truffle right after you coat it in the orange chocolate. Once the chocolate hardens, it will be tough to stick the pretzel through.

Snowman Truffles

Nothing warms a winter chill like these charming snowman truffles. Add them to your holiday treat tray or turn them into handmade gifts that everyone on your list will love. A tip from the Betty Kitchens before you get started: Allow the white chocolate to fully cool and set before you assemble the snowman. When you’re ready to stack your “snowballs,” use white icing to make sure they stick together.
