How do i thicken up potato soup?

Potato soup is so satisfying in cooler weather!  There are several ways to thicken it; take your pick:  swirl 2 to 3 cups soup in a blender and stir back into the pot (or use an immersion hand-held blender); stir in mashed potatoes - microwaving or instant potato flakes makes that easy; or, mix 1 or 2 tablespoons flour with 2 tablespoons cold milk or water and stir into the soup, then boil at least 1 minute until trickened.
