Hi, I’m Ashley! My passion for baking and cooking began in my grandmother's kitchen during our summer get-togethers. As a teenager, this interest blossomed into a deep love for creating dishes, motivated by the joy of sharing my creations with family and seeing their reactions. The process of transforming simple ingredients into something delightful fascinated me, and those early kitchen experiences with my family were filled with laughter and creativity. Today, I cherish continuing these family traditions with my own children.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I was deeply influenced by my Puerto Rican heritage. Early Saturday mornings were spent at markets searching for the freshest meats, fruits, and vegetables, while summer weekends were dedicated to barbecues and dominoes.

My cooking style is centered around cooking with love, a philosophy that has always served me well. I particularly enjoy preparing comfort foods. There’s nothing like enjoying a hot bowl of soup on a crisp fall day while wrapped in my favorite sweater.

I’ve been a fan of Betty Crocker for as long as I can remember! The brand has been a trusted staple in my kitchen, providing reliable and delicious recipes. One of my favorite Betty Crocker recipes is the classic Chocolate Chip Cookies. This timeless recipe allows me to create memorable moments with my children, even on busy weeknights.

I recall discovering a bright red Betty Crocker cookbook at The Strand Bookstore in Manhattan. It was my first encounter with a Betty Crocker book, and I was amazed not only by the recipes but also by the educational sections covering everything from homemade pasta to different cuts of meat and making fondant from scratch. That cookbook now occupies a place of honor in my kitchen.

I blend traditional techniques with modern flavors and presentations, often experimenting with classic recipes and adding my own unique twist. Outside of cooking, I enjoy being a mother, exploring new cultures through food, and meeting new people who share my passion. These encounters constantly inspire new ideas.

My greatest culinary inspiration is my grandmother, Paula. Her approach to cooking and her passion for expressing love through food have profoundly influenced my style. This blend of experience, creativity, and passion shapes my cooking and baking journey, making each dish a reflection of both tradition and love.

“The best baking tip I have ever received is to add some sour cream and instant coffee to my brownie and chocolate cakes. Total game changer!”
