Red Cabbage with Apples

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 medium unpeeled tart cooking apples, sliced
- 1 medium head red cabbage, coarsely shredded (8 cups)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions

Step1Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium heat. Cook apples in butter 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step2Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 35 to 40 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
