When spring rolls around I can’t help but notice hot ham and cheese sandwiches popping up at potlucks and family gatherings. Sure this dish is a classic, but I think we all can agree that the basic sandwich tray can be a little dull. That’s why I’ve created a new hot ham and cheese recipe for the spring season that is sure to be a real crowd pleaser.
To get started, gather your ingredients, heat the oven to 375°F and grease a 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish.
In a medium bowl, stir Bisquick® mix and milk with a wooden spoon until a thick dough forms. Dump dough onto a floured surface and using a floured rolling pin, roll dough into a large rectangle until it is about a 1/4 inch thick.
In a small bowl, beat mayonnaise, mustard and honey with a whisk to make a sauce. Spread a few spoonfuls of the honey mustard sauce across the dough, then top with ham and cheese.
Starting with one long end, tightly roll up the dough. Use a sharp knife to cut it into 8 equal rolls.
Place rolls in baking dish, cut side down and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Serve immediately with remaining honey mustard sauce.
