By Inspired Taste

Be your own mixologist and make vodka flavored with candy.

You don’t need to spend a fortune at the liquor store to stock your bar with flavored vodkas. It’s a breeze to make your own at home with assorted chewy candies!

Here’s what you need to be your own mixologist: Vodka, fruit-flavored candies, mason jars, coffee filters, a funnel or measuring cup with spout and 8.5-oz flasks.

Candy Infused Vodka

Start by adding one color of candy to each mason jar. To each jar, pour in 8 ounces of vodka.

Place a lid onto each jar, close tightly and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Let stand for about 3 hours.

Now, filter each candy-infused vodka with a coffee filter.

This can be a slow process due to the buildup of sugar from the candy. It may be necessary to poke a few small holes into the coffee filter for an initial filtration. Then perform a second filtration with a clean filter. If sugar residue remains after the second filtration, filter again or skim with a spoon.

Carefully pour an infused vodka into each flask.

Store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Or add a cute tag and give as a gift. Our friends at Quite Like It Design were kind enough to design a tag for us and even allowed us to share it with you. Here is a link. All you need to do is print and cut out!

Candy Infused Vodka

Ingredients

    • 3pint-size canning jars with tight-fitting lids
    • 3/4cup yellow candy-coated fruit-flavored chewy candies
    • 3/4cup orange candy-coated fruit-flavored chewy candies
    • 3/4cup purple candy-coated fruit-flavored chewy candies
    • 1bottle (750 ml) vodka
    • 6coffee filters
    • 3flasks (8.5 oz each)

Directions

  • 1In each canning jar, place one color candies. Pour 1 cup (8 oz) vodka over candy in each jar, making sure candy is completely covered with vodka. Place lids on jars; seal tightly. Shake each jar vigorously 20 seconds. Let stand 3 hours.
  • 2Filter each candy-infused vodka through 1 coffee filter placed over 2-cup glass measuring cup. (This can be a slow process due to the build up of sugar from the candy. It may be necessary to poke a few small holes into the coffee filter for an initial filtration.) Repeat process with a second coffee filter. If after the second filtration a sugar residue remains, filter again or skim with a spoon.
  • 3Carefully pour each infused vodka into separate flask. (If necessary, use funnel.) Refrigerate until ready to use; refrigerate up to 6 months.
