With sweater season in full swing, nothing is more satisfying for dinner than an easy, hearty meal made on the stovetop. That’s why this winter I’ll be making plenty of this one-pan pasta. Not only is it all prepared in one skillet, it’s so simple and full of filling, comfort-food ingredients like crumbled Italian sausage, cheese ravioli and loads of shredded cheese. You’ll love putting this recipe on your regular dinner rotation, too, whether for a quick weeknight meal or a casual dinner party with friends!
To start, you’ll need a pound each of frozen ravioli and mild Italian sausage with the casings removed (or you can use ground beef or turkey, if desired), Muir Glen diced tomatoes and cooking sauce, tomato paste, seasonings and, of course, that lots of shredded cheese.
Add the diced tomatoes, cooking sauce, tomato paste, seasonings and a little salt and pepper, then stir in the ravioli and some water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and simmer for about 10 minutes until the ravioli is tender.
Top the dish with a few chopped basil leaves and serve immediately, preferably with a glass of wine, a salad or a crusty loaf of bread—and a roaring fire in the fireplace on a cold night. No matter how you serve it, this comforting skillet meal is one recipe you’ll love to make again and again.
