Cinnamon Toast Crunch® French Toast Fingers

By Deborah Harroun
Created January 10, 2017
Cinnamon Toast Crunch® cereal adds a sweet and delicious twist to on-the-go French toast sticks. So no sticky syrup is needed!

Whether we have a million things on the schedule for the day or just a busy morning at home, breakfast seems to be the hardest meal for me to get on the table. And if we are eating on the run, one of my biggest complaints is the mess the food can make.

I have always loved the idea of French toast fingers. But in order for my kids to like them, they want syrup. And syrup, young children and cars just don’t mix! So I came up with a solution—make the French toast fingers sweet enough so that syrup isn’t needed.

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch® coating not only gives this French toast recipe a nice crunchy texture, but it adds just enough sweetness to keep the kids happy.

An easy, kid-approved breakfast makes mornings run smoother, which makes Mom happy, too!

You’ll need eggs, milk, cinnamon, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and bread.

In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk and cinnamon.

Cut each slice of bread into 3 pieces.

Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture.

Then put them into the cereal. Use your fingers if needed to coat the bread really well.

Place the bread “fingers” on a hot griddle. Cook until they are golden brown, then flip over and cook the second side. You can serve them right away, or you can freeze them to be eaten another morning.

To freeze, place the cooked French toast fingers in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the freezer until completely frozen. Transfer to a freezer-safe resealable plastic bag. When you are ready to eat them, just pop them into the toaster for an easy, fuss-free breakfast option.
