Celebrate strawberry season’s arrival with this juicy-sweet sheet cake.

Spring to me means bright colors, warm sunshine and fresh fruits and veggies. This cake, in all its creamy and juicy goodness, screams spring. It is sweet, pretty and delicious. The best part is that it comes together in a flash, thanks in large part to a couple smart shortcut ingredients.

First grab a box of Betty Crocker Super Moist™ Cake Mix. I used the yellow variety, but you could use white for this recipe too.

Mix up the cake batter and bake in a greased 13 x 9 pan according to the directions on the box. Cool completely for about an hour.

Next, wash and slice about 3 cups of fresh strawberries.

Set your strawberries aside and prepare your creamy layer. In a mixer, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Then, fold in a container of whipped topping. Go ahead and lick the beater with this one…yum.

Spread the creamy topping on your cake. And yes, go ahead and lick the spatula.

Next, grab your strawberries and a container of pre-made strawberry glaze, found in the produce section of your grocery store. (You can also find some great recipes for homemade glaze online, but I find this shortcut very appealing.)

Mix the sliced strawberries and glaze together and spread that beautiful mixture over your cake.
