If you're making a tomato-based chili, then you may want to try adding a can of tomato paste or use canned tomato puree to thicken it up, or, you might even want to try adding a one-half to a whole can of refried beans! I know it sounds surprising, but we've used here in the test kitchens to thicken some soup recipes we've created with excellent and tasty results, so you might give it a whirl!
